Columbia Sets to Go Strawless This Week

Columbia Restaurants is embarking on the #stopsucking movement this week by slashing the use of plastic straws for an eco-friendly, biodegradable option with drinks that require the use of straws.

As a long-time member of the catering industry, with 20 year’s success, Columbia is setting an example by ditching plastic straws for good in all restaurants; La Boca, Columbia Steak House, Plaza Café, Columbia Beach, Avli Tou Vasilea, PizzaExpress, Marzano and even the Venue Centre.

By joining the strawless society, Columbia Restaurants is making sure that they are not encouraging the use of harmful plastic that will end up in the stomach of some unsuspecting bird or sea animal anymore.

In order to put an end to the use of harmful plastic winding up in our oceans, polluting the waters, killing corals and harming turtles and other marine animals, the group has major plans to stop the usage of toxic plastics and move towards a greener way of working in the coming years with this being just the first step.
